It’s Monday morning. You may have had to come off the field injured on the weekend? You may also be be still sore or limping after the game? Your ankle or knee is swollen and painful?

If these are questions you are asking yourself then come into our free Drop-In Triage Clinic at Erko Physio Monday nights 6-8 pm

WhAT TO EXPECT

  • A free 10-15 minute assessment of the injury

  • A diagnosis and guidance regarding the required medical management (whether further physio or onward medical referral) 

  • Referral for radiology (x-ray or MRI) if required.

  • Fast-tracking to our physio appointments during the week.

  • Acute care requirements such as crutches, walking boots, braces and strapping.

  • Risk assessment and advice regarding return to training or weekend games.

  • Peace of mind!

(Please note that manual therapy treatment, dry needling or extensive exercise prescription are not part of the triage process and require a future standard consultation).

Why Triage?

1) Early assessment and diagnosis of injury - we can assess the severity of your condition and the urgency of medical intervention/further physiotherapy

2) We can refer for radiology if required (x-rays or MRI). Stream-lined referral process to other medical professionals.

3) Early diagnosis and early intervention helps prevent the escalation of injury and will facilitate faster recovery

4) We can assess your risk associated with return to training and games which will help you make an informed choice regarding when to return to sport

5) Triage reduces the wait time between diagnosis and treatment and allows for fast acute-care management

6) Allows for effective communication between coaches, athletes, and therapists regarding injury management. Team members feel valued and cared for enhancing team morale.

HOW?

Most Monday evenings from 6 - 8pm
(please email the clinic on Monday morning to confirm the
clinic is on that evening in case of staff illness/misadventure!) 

You will be seen in order of arrival

Please arrive before 7.15pm to ensure that you are seen and to fill out a little documentation regarding your injury and medical history.
